About Us

On Foxwood Avenue in Mahwah, the local Elks Lodge has been doing the kind of work that rarely makes headlines but genuinely holds a community together. Blood drives. Life Line health screenings. Fundraisers that put money back into local causes. Members here show up, and they keep showing up.

The lodge hall itself carries the character of a place that has actually been used, not just decorated. Parties fill the rooms on weekends, families gather for milestone celebrations, and the bar becomes a spot where people catch up the way neighbors used to. It is the kind of building that earns its 4.5-star reputation through function rather than flash.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is one of America's oldest fraternal organizations, and the Mahwah chapter reflects that legacy with a distinctly local flavor. If you have ever considered joining a group that pairs genuine camaraderie with real charitable impact, this is a good place to start asking questions.

What We Offer

The lodge offers a banquet and event hall available for private parties, reunions, and community gatherings. Hosts report that it handles large groups well and that the staff makes the planning process straightforward. Rental rates are typically accessible compared to commercial venues in Bergen County.

Beyond private events, the lodge coordinates community health programs including recurring blood drives and Life Line Screening appointments, giving local residents access to preventive health services right in their own neighborhood. Membership in the Elks also opens doors to a national network of charitable programs, scholarship opportunities for students, and veterans support initiatives.

Elks Lodge Mahwah holds regular member meetings and social nights, giving both longtime members and new faces a consistent reason to come back. If you are exploring membership, the lodge welcomes inquiries and can walk you through the straightforward application process.

"Drove someone here for a "Life Line Screening" appointment. The building's interior is very dark and dated and the exterior and grounds are in moderate disrepair. Nevertheless, this group does good things for the community and could use a grant to update things a bit. Good luck finding it though, lol!"

A Proud Heritage

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
